Any one out there ever replaced a god dang Oven Sensor thermocoupler in a 6890. Dang ole agilent does not have dang schematic diagram with the product. I hate to rip into it with out a plan, or else my dang ole boss might rip me another one!

Thanks

Noodles,

If you remove the rear panel of the 6890, with the power cord disconnected, you will see 4 wires coming out of the back of the oven, two thick ones which are the oven heater, and two thin ones which are the sensor lines. If you trace the thin lines back you will find where they are connected to the main board.

To remove the sensor, it is a PT100 sensor, you will need to remove all of the columns from the oven. Then remove the four screws that hold the oven shroud in place. With a bit of jiggling, you will be able to ease the shroud out of the oven, providing that you have the four wires mentioned earlier disconnected form the GC. You should then be able to replace the sensor.
