Dear All,

I am trying to separate 2-Fluorotoluene from its isomers 3-Fluoro and 4-Fluorotoluenes by GC. But I am unable to get good separation even with 75metres column also(I used AT-Wax).I hardly getting a resolution of 1. But I am unable to get Base to base separation.
Can any body have any experience with these isomers. And can you please share the GC method.

Thanks in advance

difficult separation, yes. But I don't have a solution for you.

Things to try:

Determine if you are running at optimum flow and temperature parameters, lower flow and temperature parameters even lower, just to make sure.

a trifluoropropyl methyl capillary?

a chiral GC column?

a bentone 34 capillary column

gas solid chromatography mechanism

Call a supplier of the isomers and ask them what they use.

Try LC or NMR to achieve purity determination.

Take a vacation and think about it for while.

Good luck and best wishes,
