Calibration using Methane

I was hoping to get some information regarding my apparatus setup. My CGSB test method calls for adjustment of parameters to achieve a retention time of methane of 6.51 mins at 0 degrees C and . What kind of methane setup do I require in order to make the inejection safely? The CGSB method I am using is 3.0 14.3-99. Can anyone offer any suggestions? Gas chromatography is new for me, so I would appreciate any insight. Thanks
