Hi, i'm new in chromatography.
Can anyone tell me the best practice of coloumn storage? So it will have longer live.
Thanks in advance :)

First remove buffers and acids, wash with strong solvent, and store.

Washing see http://www.sepsci.com/chromforum/viewtopic.php?t=7529

I think you'll find that most columns come with documentation giving the correct storage conditions for the respective stationary phase.

Failing that, use a generic cleanup and storage procedure as mentioned previousley.

^^Generally true for RP columns... Extra care to store in a water free appropriate organic solution is good for NP (silica) columns.

I've had problems w/ Waters X-Bridge if not stored in 100% ACN after use.
Thanks,
DR
