System problems?

Hi all,

The big giant from Seattle (Microsoft) pushed out a patch last week on the 10th. It was to their MS framework nonsense. My Chemstation PC, which is on network, couldn't talk with the 7890 GC. I had no problems talking to the 5975MS. I ghosted back to the previous day, and am in the process of getting IT to only allow security updates.

My question is, did anyone else have problems last week with their systems that are on network? I'm curious how this affected other systems, ABI, Micromass, others.

Thanks,

J

Our systems are no longer on the network for this reason. Silly microsoft updates have broken my Analyst software more than once. As long as you are behind a good firewall, I'd say turn off automatic update. That is, until the instrument manufacturers decide to give us a real OS (linux) which is not likely to happen anytime soon.
