Flow rate for packed column Supelpak-S

I have a Supelpak-S (18' packed) x 1/8" OD fitted in a HP 7890A. I want to condition the column, but I noticed that my pre-column rate is 30 mL/min and my post-column flow rate is 10 mL/min. Will conditioning the column fix this - and is 10 mL/min an OK flow rate if I bake it overnight at 150oC?

I have another spare packed column - Chromasil 330, not yet preconditioned and I notice the same drop in flow rate. My guess is that this decrease is a feature of non-conditioned columns, but I thought it was worth to check this, before conditioning.

All answers appreciated.

You should call Supelco technical service. You will get the correct answer and the call is free.

My guess is that you have a serious leak in your instrument. If you do then conditioning the column at 150°C can damage it. DON'T DO IT. Give Supelco a call first.
