Because of the changing nature of my assignment, I will no longer be able to participate in the forum on a regular basis. I have greatly enjoyed the conversation, and I have learned a great deal too. Best of luck to all of you.

Mark,

Your knowledgeable and helpful contributions have been a help to many on this forum and they will be missed.

I among many certainly appreciate the generosity of your time and effort on this forum.

Thank you, Mark.

God speed !

Mark, feel free to stop by any time!

I'll second Rod's comments. I've been at this for a while, and I've learned a lot from reading your contributions. We'll miss you!

Thank you Mark for your contribution on this forum. I think your ideas and inventions helped us to solve a lot of problems.

Dear Mark,

Your cca 1000 posts on this forum speak about your great contribution to the chromatographic community. It is a pity that you'll have to leave this forum (on a regular basis).
Like other members of this forum I would like to thank you personally for your great input. I learned a lot from your posts.

And also I want to encourage all other chromatographers/members of this forum to participate in the discussions and to share their experience from their work. We all are working in a complex field and we should help each other and learn from each other, because the grandness of a experienced/unexperienced chromatographer lies in his/her ability to teach and share the knowledge and experience gained.

It is honour to be a member of this highly-professional forum.
Thanks Mark for your unselfish help.
Wish you all best in your life!

Best regards

Just because you're "going over to the dark side" doesn't mean you can't still pop in here from time to time. Your input has been valuable and appreciated. Your employers should be happy with what you've done for them by sharing your knowledge with us. Hopefully, they'll encourage the same from whoever follows in your footsteps.

Best of luck in your new endeavor!
Thanks,
DR

Maybe you will still drop in once in a while, if the same happend to you as it happened to me: I got addicted...

Good luck with your new endeavour!

Good luck, Mark! I have learned a lot from you. This forum is like potato chips. Hope to see you back in "our bag"!

Mark,

Your posts on this forum have been 95% of the type "here is exactly how to solve your problem" and 5% "and if you want to buy a solution from Dionex, here is the part number....". This is a win/win situation for everyone, but is inconceivable in the real world-imagine getting this kind of free service from an attorney. Another benefit is that it identifies a real expert within a company. It is often extremely difficult to get sense out of representatives in your own country, which may be remote from the research/manufacturing site of equipment- this is a general point and not directed at Dionex in particular. Sometimes I find that these minions themselves do not know who the expert is within their own organisation.....

I would not be surprised if your contributions have sold a considerable amount of Dionex equipment...and the same goes for another major HPLC company that takes exactly the same line on this. I think if the accountants did their sums it might even be worthwhile for some large companies to appoint a person for which attention to this site became a signficant part of their job, although I am sure there are few that are far-sighted enough to do this, and it is perhaps just to difficult to get hold of genuine experts. Alternatively, the absence of similar contributions from a number of major players in the instrument sector seems to speak volumes to me. So much so that Mark has sometimes even responded on their behalf.....!!

Hey Mark -

It's been great reading your posts. Hopefully you'll be able to stop on by every now and then.
Best of luck to you!

Mark, I haven't been here long, but you did take the time to answer my first question posted, even though some searching revealed that many others have asked very nearly the same question. Thanks to you (as well as the other repliers) for your patience and expertise.
Randy

Your knowledge and willingness to share it here will indeed be sorely missed by many.

Good luck and please stop in here and again!

hi mark....

i would like to thank you a million times for your knowledgeable contribution to this forum….
You will be missed a lot…..

Wish you all the best for future …

TC

Mark,

Thankyou for your contributions, I hope the change is not due to company
pressure.

As another poster has said, this is a win-win situation - we all gain from the dialogue.

All the best Mark.....we'll all miss your presence and expert advice. Do pop by from time to time. Here's wishing you the best the future has to offer.
