How to calibrate Light Scattering detector?

I'm not sure - am I posting to right group - but that is about HPLC coupled to ELSD.

So - company, where I'm working, recently bought ELS detector (Waters 2424) for Waters Alliance HPLC.
Instrument is linked to Empower data network and ocasionally used. But noone knows, how to correctly calibrate the detector. (calibration on a regular basis, e.g., once a year, is required by controlling institutions)
The HPLC-ELSD system is necessary for analysis of small (usu. <1000 Da) UV non-absorbing molecules.

Any suggestions? (compounds used, concentrations range, number of injections)

Did your company pay for AQT? If so, look at the reports. There will be a lot of useful information in them.

My guess is that they used a 2 (or more) component standard series to establish linearity over a predefined range of concentrations for each component.

No, our country isn't so rich to afford AQT. :-/

We are doing all testing ourselves, with humble help from company, where we bought that ELSD detector (they are selling hardware, but are too busy to give regular service). But my colleagues are smart enough to understand even uncomplete notions.

Are there any documents (Pharmacopoeia's, ICH, GMP, whatever!), which describe the routine good enough to satisfy our local insectors? [they, I can say, soften, seeing label 'Pharmacopoeia's Method' ]

P.S. I'm not working with THAT detector myself - it is in next room; but I'll tell the guys (and chicks) any useful information. I'm on LC/MS.

Demonstrating linearity with a series of standards, in much the same way it is done with other detectors, should be enough.

you can use caffein for PQ test for ELSD.
You can use waters PQ guide and solutions for PQ .
they use caffein prepared in different concentration.
