Hi All,
I have covered with remainders the FID when cleaned the column, thus the flame does not ignite. Somebody knows how to repair or to open the air passage to the FID?
It's Schimadzu GC17A v3 FID.
best regards

elanaerobico,
Sure it is the air and not the hydrogen or make-up? Are you sure that you simply did not plug the jet when you re-installed the column, especially if this is a plot column? Just had a similar problem to this and it turned out to be the jet.
Best regards.

Dear AICMM,
the column was cleaned into the heater, with an increment of the temperature and maintaining the He flow, which the column was'nt re-installed Is probably that the FID have a obstruction from residual material in the column. I not ignited the flame during cleaning.

First check whether the FID gas flows are at their proper flows. If they are and the flame does not light there is probably a probolem with the igniter.
To unblock the flame tip, cool the detector, remove the flame tip and poke out the obstruction with something stiff enough to poke through the jet, but soft enough not to damage the flame tip - using wire riskes damaging the tip.
