Steve,

A quick Google search under chemical standards and fatty acid esters will give you a lot of hits.

My company Supelco is only one of many companies that sell them. My parent company, Sigma Aldrich, sells individual high purity FAME and FAEE in various sizes so you can make up your own custom standards.

Nu Chek Prep is a wonderful source. They are a source of these to many other companies who package and resell their products.

Find a good local distributor of standards and buy from them. It beats waiting weeks to get your standards from across the big puddle. (aka international sales)

best wishes,

Rod

Another well known source of lipids that I've used is Matreya
( www.matreya.com ), who specialise in polar lipids, but also offer a wide range of neutral standards.

W.W.Christie ( the expert on lipid analysis ) also lists several specialist sources at the bottom of his links page....
http://www.lipidlibrary.co.uk/news/links.html

If you are testing to a standard method, they may specify the supplier.

Note that fatty acid standards are likely to be OK and fairly stable, but I've encountered expensive complex lipid standards that had degraded before arrival, even in ampules. Don't be hesitant about challenging
product quality if you obtain anomalous results.

Please keep having fun,
