HP3396 Series II Integrator woes

We have an old HP3396 Integrator (a recent gift to our cash-strapped lab). We wish to use it with our HPLC (extensively refurbished 1988 ISCO), but it refuses to print. A new ink cartridge was installed. The print head moves, but does not get ink on the paper. Furthermore, the wire and pulley system looks fine for moving the print head, but it makes an awful stuttering sound when it's on the left side of the page. I used these things for years at a lab I left 6 years ago. The only problems were cleaning the ink/print head aqssembly thoroughly. I was really hoping this would get us away from our ancient chart recorder. If I can't fix this integrator, are there any freeware options for getting integration software/hardware for a PC (i.e., move our lab into the 21st Century)?

Med,

Had the same thing happen to me and finally gave up. Might contact someone like Gentech or AIR to see what they have to say.

I think VOX had a similar issue so look at his postings and you should find options on software. No freeware that I am aware of though.

Also, look at LabX for other integrators like the 3392 which can often be had for under $50.

Best regards.
