Dear User,
According to the recent development of QuECHERS method, Sorbitol, Ethlyglycerol, and Gamma-Gulonolactone were evaluated for avoiding the matrix effect. Do they really worth wile for quenching the sample matrix effect? And do they also prolong the system lifetime like the liner, the analytical column, and the detector? And it eventually prevent the sensitivity loss problem caused by the matrix contaminations?
Thanks,

I am not aware of this study. Can you give a more specific reference?

You can refer to this website for getting more information about QuECHERS as well as the usage of 'analyte protectants'.

We have been using black carbon and magnesium sulfate to clean up our manure and soil extracts prior to GCMS or LCMS analysis of hormones. I will definitely give PSA a try, should be good for removing humics and free fatty acids. I find it interesting that this method is published on the web.

Some more stuff about the Quechers-method can be found here:

and many more if you type "Quechers" into your favorite search engine.
A very useful method that I am using in different modifications for soil and plant matrices.

Hi!
I have tested this protectants but i'm not very satisfied....the matrix standard effect vs protectant is not the same.
I think that column react differently between protectant and matrix.Soem active site on the column is block with protectant but matrix effect produce other thing in system.
I prefer matrix standard because more reproductible result are produce and it is more representative of the realty
