Hi,
Is it possible to use 0.01M hydrochloric acid as final solvent for sample injection on a ESI LC-MS/MS?
Thanks

The pH of 0.01M HCl is 2. That is about the lower limit that most silica based columns can handle. Polymeric type columns can withstand a lower pH. Since you only inject a small volume (typically 1-50uL), it should not cause much problem with your column or the MS. It might decrease the lifetime of your column slightly, but not much.

There was one good article published in Elsevier "Importance of injection solution compositin for LC-MS/MS methods" (Journal of Pharmaceutical and Biomedical Analysis 26(2001) 753-767). You may refer this. If you could not get it, provide your mail address, I will mail you when I see your post.
