Dear all

I know that peak purity function is widely used by chromatographers with UV diode array detector.

Is there an implementation of such function for LC/MS?

hi

dear,
LC MS analysis is mostly working on ionization of your molecules and scannig that molecule. so there is no need to check peak purity with lcms analysis. moreover, nowadays there are more sophisticated LCMSMS instruments that monitor patent as well as precursor ion(fragment ion). so that will give more clarity on your analysis.
hope this will help

Dear alpesh, thank you for your answer. I am sure, that it's possible to distingush between two compounds by point-to-point comparison of MS (or MSn spectra) of two co-eluted (very closely eluted) compounds, but my problem is - the possibility to quantify the spectral difference. Probably there are some other considerations: the difference of ionisation of such compounds etc.; well, there are some problems with DAD peak purity too.
