HPLC - Program injector failure on Chemstation 1100 series

I am working on a method developing using the Algilent 1100 series
HPLC chemstation. I don’t know why the program injector could not get executed when the sequence got started.
When I start the sequence, the system executes all the sample vials sequentially without following the instruction listed in the program injector?
Please help me to resolve this problem if you can. I would appreciate for all your help.

Did you verify that you are not in reprocessing mode? Also make sure you are in the online session. I know from bad own experience, how easily these errors can happen.

Which version?
My - Rev.B.02.01. also sometimes makes errors. If you have right injector program perhaps it software bug.

I agree with khw - it seems that you have set in "Sequence properties" "Reprocessing only" instead of "According to Runtime Checklist" (Item "Parts of methods to run")

Thank you for all your suggestions.
However, how do I check what mode I am using? I am always in Run and methods mode when I start the sequence.
I will test my sequence today and see what software version of my chemstation.

My set up for this sequence property in "According to Runtime Checklist", but system does not execute the first line of my program injector.
This is my program injector looks like:
1. Draw 2.5ul from vial (Borate vail)
2. Draw 0.5ul from sample
After hitting start button, the system execute the 2nd line in the program injector, but it did not run the line 1.
Please help me to fix this program injector.

I'm not at work now so I can't go check, but isn't there a box to put a check mark in for "use injector program"? May you have to click "more" or "full" when in the injector set up to see that, can't remember.

Thank you for paying attention to my questions.
Injector program is a part of a method. There is a standard injector which I am not using it. I have to click on an icon in the method to generate this program injector which has as many lines as I want to write. For some reasons, it only executes the line that directs the sequence, and whatever lines that direct the OPA, wash needle or FMOC vial, did not execute at all.

hi Kathy,
can you show the full injector program (all the steps, as shown on the edit tab)?
thanks,
Sergio

This is my program injector looks like:
1. Draw 2.5ul from vial (Borate vail)
2. Draw 0.5ul from sample
That's it.
I had another method which has about 13 lines in the program injector; this was the first injector program I created. It was working ok; However, in order to make it works correctly, I had to add those (OPA, WATER, FMOC...) vials in the sequence as samples...I removed those from the sequence, and just leave the sample vials in the sequence @ particular positions....From this removal, the injector program doesn't run those (OPA, WATER, FMOC...) vials anymore.
That's the whole story of my experiment. Don't know if anyone sees any wrong thing from there to help me or not????

Kathy,
are you using a standard autosample (like G1313A or simmilar)?
If so, I don't understand your program:
1) what is '(Borate vail)...(OPA, WATER, FMOC...) vials'
2) when you create a injector program, you have to tell the machine every step; for ex, I don't see the inject command. In my opinion the only 2 steps program you can create is: - draw from sample, - inject.
May be I can be more helpfull if I know what are you trying to do (or better, what do you want the injector to do), and I'd like to see that 13 steps program that was working to see the differences.
have a nice day

I am trying to set up a method to analyze Amino Acid.
BORATE, OPA, FMOC are buffer and reagents to go with Agilent instruction on using Eclipse zorbax AAA column.
Thank you very much for your help, and please continue helping me on this.

You can find the exact injector program you should use in the relevant application note for OPA/FMOC amino acid derivatization.
The application note can be found here, have a look on the second page...

That's exactly an injector program that I have been mentioning about (13 lines).
It works only if I have those vials setup in a sequence. It fails after removing those lines in sequence.
Thank you very much and please continue helping me on this.
