Hellow

We are using 0.04% TFA in 1Liter water on Symmetry shield column 4.6X260mm, ACN is almost 60% The pH of TFA buffer is near about 1.7
Can I use this TFA buffer In HPLC analysis and can this buffer affect my column silica :?:

0.04% TFA can be used on any silica column.

Did you measure the pH with ACN? The pH of 0.04% TFA should be around pH 2.4.

You can safely use this mobile phase with most modern C18 columns. The lifetime will be less than the maximum, but it will be quite adequate. Some columns have been designed to have greater acid resistance than the typical columns. Endcapped columns usually lose some of the endcapping when exposed to TFA, and show changes in behavior at higher pH. So, if you are going to do this method routinely, designate a column as "TFA mobile phases only."
