Hellow,
I analysed trimethyl borate in CPSIL-5CB column , It will eluted properly but one additional peak is found ( by MS it was known as methanol peak)
Main problem is that we are not gaitting repeatibility with run to run and this methanol peak is vary during analysis . We also set the injector temperature at 85degree but still varition is found . What is the resion. Can we proceed analysis with different column.

Ar you doing this by HPLC or GC? You have an equilibrium system with (MeO)3B + H2O <==> (MeO)2BOH + MeOH that is acid catalyzed.
