benzaldehyde+ACN = reaction on HPLC?

Hello,

One question: do you know if it is possible that benzaldehyde can react with ACN (mobile phase: phosphate buffer pH=4.6 + ACN ). Because near the peak of benzaldehyde, there is a small peak which appears.

Acetonitrile is rather stable, and does not react under such mild conditions. Furthermore, when there is a reaction in the column you don't get a well-formed peak, you get a strange doublet with a broad valley between the peaks. Benzaldehyde may well be contaminated with benzyl alcohol or benzoic acid; see if one of those matches your extra peak.
