We add BSA to our HPLC fractions (1.5mL centrifuge tube) to minimize loss of peptide to the inside of the tube during speed vac evaporation. How much is needed for this? Is the amount needed a function of the amount of liquid being evaporated?

use 1/100 the volume of your sample extract. So if you have a 2 mL sample extract--just add 20uL of BSA. ONly small volumes of this reagent are needed--I use it when I'm stablizing isolated DNA to prepare lambda Hind3 markers with DNAP+buffer+bSA+water.
