Hi,

I am wondering if someone else run into this. We validate our Empower software that it is on the server and also in our clients that also have the software.
We are planning to run from another building using Windows 2003 terminal services and remote desktop connection.
Few people want me to run a full validation like if the Empower sofware are on those PC's (but the sofware it is not). I am trying to explain that the sofware it is on the server and already has been validated. That for the remote desktop connection we only need to validate the connection, log in and passwords.... Anybody have a similar experience...What I should validate in the remote desktop pc's...

Thanks

It would probably be better to run a Citrix server. Then you have to validate that client stack. The downside is installing a Citrix server. The upside is that you can make all of your networked PC clients use it. You can then remove Empower from your fat clients and never validate or update them again. You'd be down to 1 client installation.

If I have not yet convinced you, let me suggest that your end users are going to start wanting to use Vista well ahead of Empower being ready to migrate to it (IMHO). If they're using a Citrix server, their desktop OS doesn't matter (much).
Thanks,
DR

We did have a citrix server at one point but at that point Citrix wasn’t running in a Win2003 server platform. We end up using Win2003 terminal services to publish the empower application and running from that “client serverâ€

I agree that in this case there is probably no need to validate.
That said, I would also ask someone at Waters who is very familiar w/ the FDA aspects of it.

So, I'm guessing that you have one remote user who occasionally can't get back to his own fat client conveniently?
Thanks,

Thanks, I will try to find someone at waters.

We don't have any problem with the remote so far but our lab it is in another building and it is easier to check the runs from our desks from time to time.

Thanks again
