Hi,

I have a similar problem to that posted by Seb@ on Sep. 4, 2006 ("Front syringe error"). I am getting an intermittent fault with my 7863 injector on an HP6890 GC when preparing to make an injection. The syringe comes to a halt and the red LED fault light flashes 4 times repeatedly. The sequence log file contains the message:
"Instrument Control reported error code = 8026"
However there is no listing of GC error codes in the on-line help or in the autosampler manual. Does anyone know what this error code is specifying?

Thanks.

AP01,

If the 7683 is anything like the 7673 (who am I kidding, right) then 4 red LED flashes is a plunger error. It is possible the syringe is sticking, the sample is so viscous it makes the syringe stick, the plunger carrier is out of position, or the sensors that check the plunger are not operating correctly. Check the syringe plunger first for stickiness since this is the easiest. After that you are going to have to go to diagnostics.

Best regards.
