Forgive my repeated questions and ignorance on this topic, I'm new to packed columns. While working on a GC with overtightened Porapak Q columns, one of them received a bend at the end. Will this have any negative consequences on the chromatography?

Thanks,
Matt

It depends upon the extent of the 'bend' to which you refer. Porous polymer column are quite rugged and only a 'crimp', not a bend, should affect the chromatography.

best wishes,

Rod

Thanks Rod. Fortunately it is only a slight bend.
