GC oven doesn' t cool down!

Hi,
I'm new here and I really need some help. Right now I'm working with a GC 6890N and it worked perfect till we repaired the heater. We had to repair the heater because the oven didn't heated up anymore and since we fixed this problem the heater won't cool down under 100 celcius. We allready looked at the back and watched if the flaps are working correctly and they do. Another interesting fact is: When we are trying to cool the GC down from 200 to 50 celcius it cools down to 100 celcius perfectly (like it ever did) but then the temperature won't go down further.

It would ber very nice if somebody could help me with this problem.

Thanks Sindy

P.S. : I can hear the fan is operation, so don't think there is a fan problem.

Sindy,

The first thing that I would try to find out if the oven is really at 100'C or it thinks it is at 100'C.

If you leave the oven door open for a while so that the temperature inside the oven will be at room temperature, what do you have as a readout for the oven temperature.

Gasman

My guess is the problem is related to the heater replacement. It could be the sensor pointed out by Gasman, maybe the sensor was not installed properly. Also, use a multimeter to test heater resistance to make sure the heater is not shorted to GC chasis (the resistanse between either one of the heater leads and the GC chasis should be infinite, the resistance between the heater leads should be in proper range). Depending the country you are in, the oven heater part # will be different, from G1530-61610 to G15330-61670. Make sure you have the right part number for the oven heater.
Hi GasMAn an JI2002,

thank you very much for your help. But the GC still doen't work.

To GasMAn: I kept the oven door open and I waited for a while. After some minutes des temperature decreased from 100 to 32 degrees.

Another Problem we got is that the front inlet doen't get ready.

We checked all the electronics. I maybe it is the TRIAC?

Thanks Sindy

Sindy,

The fact that you read 32'C with the oven door open shows that the oven sensor is working OK. It could be the triac. It could also be one of the oven leads is partly shorting to ground. You mentioned in your first message that you had to replace the oven heater. Why?

Gasman
I had to replace the oven heater cause the wire of the heater broke during a night run.

Right now we like to replace the mainboard and try if this will work. (when we can find one)

Thanks again for your help!

Sindy
We finally solved the problem with the GC. We had a shorted, so we don't need a new mainboard.

But I like to thank you guys for your help! :-D

Thank u and take care
Sindy
