I'm using this column for development work. It's a 0.53 mm x 50 m. It's advertised as being a very robust column by Varian. When the column is new, I get good seperations, superior to any other column I tried however, After a couple of weeks the retentions times seem to get longer and then suddenly " No peaks". This is the second column I purchased from Varian, I'm beginning to think that this is not a very robust column. I also have to use a trap after the column before the detector, otherwise I see spiking galore. Varian also advertises that no trap is needed with is column.
Anyone out there have any experiences with this column that they would like to share?

I am curious if you would permit me to ask.

What kind of sample content are you injecting onto this column?

I have no experience with this column.

best wishes,

Rod
