I know this may seem like an odd question, but does anyone know how to change the oil on a Waters 6000A HPLC pump? What type of oil should be used? How much oil?
Sincerely,
Al

You could try your local Quick-E-Lube for fast, convenient service
A better source of the correct information would be to call Chromatography Technology Services (800 682-6480). They do great service on Waters equipment and would know the answer. The usual disclaimer applies; I receive no kickbacks, finder fees, etc.. It's tough to be honest and poor.

I actually took a full-day repair course on Waters 6000 pumps and injectors; the bad news is that it was in the late 1970s, and I can't find my course book, sorry. The good news is that some tools were included, and I think I still have those. You may be able to find out by calling Waters Technical support or on their Web page.

Thanks for the info. on CTS. I wish I could just take the pump to Jiffy Lube. The pump uses 85W140 oil by the way.

Ypu should sell that devil as an antique and put the money to something from this century. Somewhere at Waters, someone has the procedure stashed away, the real challenge is to find that someone. I can tell you that Waters archives all of that kind of information, but the older it is, the harder iot is to find. I wish you luck.
