We are performing a method transfer. The customer has in their method, which is run on a Perkin Elmer Clarus GC, attenuation -3(8). We have an Agilent 6890, but the attenuation can only be set to 0-10. Does anyone know if -3 on a P.E. Clarus is equivalent to 8 on an Agilent 6890? Thanks.

Unless you use the analog signal output on the 6890, the Range setting will not have any effect. It will just influence the signal level on the signal output to any A/D converter or chart recorder.
