What is the best configuration to use for the measurement of NMHC with a FID.
Which carrier gas?
Which packed column?
column lenght?
column head pressure?
carrier flow?
column temperature?
is backflush valve configuration is the best to use?

thank you

In what?.

The configuration for atmospheric monitoring ( where Non-Methane HydroCarbon concentrations are low ), is quite different to vehicle emission monitoring.

Almost every manufacturer of GCs will be able to offer suggestions for configuration, and there are several dedicated GC designs that measure NMHCs in different environments.

A WWW search will elicit many options, and a science database search will identify current best practice for the sampling environment you want to work with.
