how to alternate Refractive Index

MY PEG(poly ethylene glycol) is detected well by RI in 100% aquesous containing 100mM NaNO3.
But the RI can not detect the PEG peak in aquesous ACN solution w/ or w/o NaNO3.
I am going to try MeOH instead of ACN.
But any suggestions?
