G'day,
Does anyone know of any general references on GC/AED? Inparticular how it works/what information it provides?

Cheers

Hi,
You may find www.chromatography-online.org very useful, especially the online book, GC detectors.

Thanks,
Bulent

Thanks mbulentcakar, and WK for your responses!! Some of that snow would be great here in sunny OZ WK! :)

Does anyone know if AED detectors are widely available/used, and their approximate cost? Also, how easy are they to interface with a GC?

My reason for thinking GC/AED vs ICPMS was mainly cost, and we analyse various phosphorus and sulfur containing species and I thought that AED would be a possible option over PFPD, or NPD.

Any thoughts/ideas/experiences on GC/AED would be greatly appreciated!!

Cheers!!

The AED detector was developed by Agilent. I believe they sold this product to a German company called jas in 2002, who were allowed to market and further develop the product.

If you follw the link above, you will see that jas claims to be the only company that markets a commercial AED detector. I would start my enquiries with them
