Does anybody know what are the requirements about the ceiling in GLP certified laboratory?
Thanks in advance.

It must be supported, no self levitation allowed. The ceiling must also be maintained above head height at all times.

Seriously then - facilities have to be appropriate to the work that is carried out in them. If the ceiling compromises the quality of the results then it is not compliant with GLP (or any other acronym laden "quality system").

Why, specifically, are you asking about ceilings, why not floors or bench tops for instance ?.

I am asking because I work in Bio analytical lab that is intended to be GLP certificated. I am interested about anything in this subject.

If you are working in a mixed biological/chemical environment dealing with toxic organisms, the building structure will more likely be defined by the requirements of the biological containment and cleaning regulations, rather than any chemical quality assurance rules.

As noted above, the laboratory structure really only has to prevent contamination of samples, and not cause the accidental death of auditors or other important visitors.

If you nned to know about your laboratory ceiling, you should just casually mention to the building supervisor that the off-white fibres dropping from the ceiling look somewhat like asbestos.
