vinyl and silicone OV1

Hi,

I found two kinds of OV-1 in my lab, one silicone based and the other vinyl based. Could anyone help me figure out the difference between the two? I will appreciate it.

OV-1 phase is a high molecular weight 100% methyl silicone gum.

Can you describe the labels of the OV-1 samples you have as you have found them more fully?

Some methyl silicones have a 1% or 2% vinyl composition as well.

The difference, for example, between SE-54 and SE-52 is 1% vinyl 99% Methyl silicone versus 100% methyl silicone.

One says, OV-1 Vinyl
the other, Silicone OV-1 LV modified

I am not sure what the vinyl and silicone refer to.

OV-1 (1% vinyl) is the USP phase [G9], another brand name is UCW-982.

Vinyl pertains to the polymer containing 1% vinyl.

The other silicone refers to it be a methyl silicone polymer but as to the LV modified? I have no idea.

Is there no company name or product number or phone number on the bottle?
