I am just looking for possible " lower Limit of detection for Bromo Benzene by Headspace GC"analysis along with the GC parameters.
Thanks[/b]

Hi,
I'm sorry to sound pedantic but there are a lot of "it depends".
For example;
Static or dynamic headspace?
What is the sample matrix?
How much sample have you got?
What is your detector?
As an example, and without having done it, I would expect to be able to see 100ppb or lower using SPME/GCMS-SIM on 1g sample heated to 50°C, and sampled for 20mins using a standard addition for quantitation, analysed on a wax column starting at 40°C.
Regards,
Ralph

The system config as floows.,
Dynamic headspace (G1888 - Agilent)
FID detector (Agilent GC 6890n )
Sample concentration about 100 mg/ml (expected bromo benzene level is about 0.5 ppm )
Sample matrix contains Methanol , Acetone and Bromo Benzene which are used in the process.
We are interested to carry the analysis on GC Capillary columns.
Thanks
Just a warning

Be aware that it is possible to de-brominate your analyte. Given active sites in your headspace system, reactions can take place and you can easily loose low levels of the bromobenzene.
good luck in your analysis.
