Try this web site: http://www.wolflabs.co.uk/Cecil_HPLC_Systems.htm

You would probably be throwing away your money, service and support would likly be the issues to be concerned with here. Depending on where you are and how extentsive thier service and support network is (I have never heard of them till just now), if it breaks, you've got trouble. Like with most consumer products, you pretty much get what you pay for.

The first HPLC systems I used, back in 1975, had Cecil variable detectors, which were essentially UV-Vis sppectrometers with flow cells. They were about the only parts of the system that were reliable and accurate.

The main issue would be support, and if you are confident that you will get support, they may be worth considering, espcially if they are significantly lower cost than better known brands.

I just want to add that I have nothing against Cecil HPLC's (or just about any other small manufacturer of low end LC's). I have been in lots of labs over the past 25 years and never recall seeing one (I really was not looking either). If it fits your budget and fits your needs, it may be the best investment you have ever made. Of course, as I pointed out (along with another poster) its the service and support that help guide your decision.
