Hi, I'm very new with the GC-MSD and I have probably a pretty easy question. I'm running a SPME method and I need to bake out the fiber for 1 hour at 300C. now, i have no issues just dropping the fiber into the injection port manually, but what I'd like to do is create a program that would do it for me.. and that's where I'm clueless. so could someone please give me an idea on how to create this program? i'm using a 6890n GC.

thank you..

I am assuming you have an automated SPME sampler? Can't you just set your desorb time to 1 hour and up your inj port temp to 300?

Personally, I do not condition my fibers on the same instrument as the analysis. Furthermore, I usually condition them on systems without columns at all...

What type of fiber is it? I do not see any that show a conditioning temperature of 300°C with a time of 1 hour in my Supelco catalog.
