Hey, guys.

The previous computer which we were using to control our varian 450 GC has broken, and the previous technician left the company last year, so we don't really now how to connect it to the PC. The display is broken, so we can't know what's the set static IP, and the BOOTP server doesn't seem to work on our Windows 7 OS.
Can someone shed a light on this matter?

thanks

Hi,

If the GC is connected directly to the PC there is a strong chance the IP Address will be 10.2.128.1. This was the default address used by most Varian engineers. Since the 450 GC can store a IP Address it is unlikely it would have been set up to use BootP.

If the GC was on your company LAN, the IT group should have a record of it as it would have been on a reserved IP.
