Dear Friends,
Our lab an old GC-FTIR instrument, a Nicolet Protege 460 is the detector part. The laser source in it seems to be inoperative and the service personel says that it may need replaceament. However they point that that the problems may be somewhere else and that other electronic parts could need to be changed as well.
Is there a test that we could run and pinpoint the problem?. Our lab can not afford to buy all the possibly malfunctioning parts just to identify where the problem is.
Any help will be appreciated.
