Hi!I'm new to operate GC-MS, I'm in trouble to situation like photos in the link

https://drive.google.com/drive/folders/ ... sp=sharing

I'm trying to measure several testing blank , and as you can see, the result of area of compound PAD is really low, all of them are under 100(large data in the middle are standard solution, 4 ppm and 12 ppm).
I've got two comment to this problem:one said that I didn't setup right so machine cannot catch the right m/z ion, and the other said I should raise sensitivity.
To the first comment, I use SIM to setup when to start to detect the ion, and setup its target ion, I don't understand what more I can do?And to the second comment, I'm sure all consumable are new and clean, what else I can do to improve sensitivity?

The model of GC/MS:Agilent 7890B/5977B
Columns:DB-5ms Ultra Inert 30 m X 250 um X0.25 um

Welcome to the forum.

The peaks in a blank should be very small. You only have a problem if the peaks from standards are very small. Your peaks from standards are not very small, and so you do not have a problem.

If it truly is a blank sample then Peter is correct, you should have little or no peaks in a blank, unless it is contaminated. Unless it is an internal standard you are looking for, then the peaks should be the same size in all analysis.
