Autosampler wash needle depth question 7683/6890N

So, my problem is that the needle on the wash only goes down half way into the wash vials. It goes about to the same depth as the sample vial (which is raised up compared to the wash vials--as seen in picture). Because the wash doesn't use all of what's in the vial, we can't do long runs without going in and refilling them during the run.

Is there any way to set the needle to penetrate farther down into the wash vial? I couldn't find anything in the manual, except for 'sample offset', which I believe changes how high above the sample vial the needle goes-this sounds good but I think it is only for the sample vial itself and not the wash vial.

If this is just the way it is, I can accept it and maybe we can just wash less, but it seems to me they wouldn't design it to work like this. This is on a 7683 HP injector and 6890N Agilent GC.

It's by design. If you have original wash vial you can see a level marked on the wall. This is the minimum solvent level which is ca. 18 mm from the bottom.
