Hi. Does anyone know what alkyl group is used to bond the SAX moiety to the silica surface in Hypersil SAX? Have asked Thermo, they weren't too helpful.

Thanks.

Don't know for sure, but the common chain length for such things is 3 methylene groups between the silica and the quaternary amine.

Thanks Uwe. I guessed something similar, I have details of 2 other SAX columns that I'm comparing, but I wonder why Thermo are being so cagey!!?? Never mind, I'll crack on & see what happens!
