My 5890 GC is acting up. My initial temp is set at 60, but the GC not ready light remains lit, even when the oven temp on the display reaches and remains at 60, and the "not ready" light never goes out. Any ideas?

Yes, everything else is correct. At the moment, it seems to be working again.

You may check the stabilization time , normally it is around 2 minutes, so you need to wait 2 minutes after stabilization for a ready sign.

Also look in the back and see if the flaps are closing all the way on the oven exhaust. I have had them get to where they don't close all the way and it takes forever to stabilize. Usually cycling the power will cause them to reset and close properly.

I've had the flapper motor go bad on these, wasn't closing all the way. Once I had a flapper disc fall off and had to rivet it back on.
