Hi, I wanted to ask the group especially those of you that have worked on binary HPLC systems having to transfer to a quaternary HPLC. Do you have a rough estimate on how much equilibration time it might take to change the mobile phase composition by up to 5 % when dealing with a quaternary system ? I am currently using a binary HPLC and I don't have the luxury of multiple HPLCs. Does anyone have an idea or could point me to a document ? If I had both systems, I would have an easier time to figure this out.

Valid question, but hard to answer. Quaternary systems vary a lot; ask the manufacturer of your system specific, and they can tell you a definitive answer (the manufacturers know an awful lot about their competitors' systems, and some can even emulate them).
