Is it possible to mesure methyl iodide by liquid extraction

Dear all
I am confused is there any way to mesure methyl iodide by liquid extraction in pentane . I have seen manuscript reporting mesurments of ch3ch2i but not ch3i.

can any body suggest something on this?
