I 'm working on a special project and I would like to know which column would be the best to get a NMHC or THC peak using one simple column in backflush mode. I'm using Argon as carrier gas with a plasma emission detector.
I already have good results with Argon, Hydrogen background and Nitrogen background, but the problem is that when I have Oxygen as background gas, I'm not able to flush all the Oxygen outside, so the NMHC peak is integreted in Oxygen drift. I'm currently using a Hayesep D 100/120 column 12' long at 60 Celcius with 30cc/min argon carrier gas.
So let me know if another column could be the job!!!
Thanks a lot to the people that will help me!!!
