What causes negative peaks or negative humps in a GC-ECD, even in a dry run (no injection), an air injection or in a blank solvent (hydrocarbon) injection ? What are the remedies for these random and/or non-random phenomena?

There could be a gas leak in the system.

Hmmmmm....most likely NOT a leak....but sounds like a dirty cell..have it cleaned or replaced.
