hi everyone,
i am a GC user , recently i confront an error message that says "detector broken" or "signal configuration mismatch". could any one assist me with help and what i am supposed to do ?
Hello

What you supposed to do first is to give us more details...Different GC systems gives different errors.
Give us details about:

1.GC model information
2.Type of detector
3.Software for instrument control

thank you for your reply,
1.GC model information: 7890B agilent
2.Type of detector : FID
3.Software for instrument control/ OpenLab CDS
Hello

1. Check FID configuration on GC display (click CONFIG and then DET)
2. Check if you can control temperature, flows, electrometer
3. Try to load DEF_GC.M (default method) in OpenLAb and create new method from scratch - see if you can run method
4.If not working - you can remove FID from GC configuration and reconfigure it.

I Tried to load DEF_GC.M (default method) in OpenLAb and create new method but the detector temperature is stuck on 45 °C ,i configure it to 220°C but it ain't increase.

the only modified parameter from Detector configuration is "column comp"
Hello

In this case I'd check detector board and GC board (voltage). If you've never done it - It is better call for service.

Cartridge heater in the detector , ( or the cables ) seems broken ( open circuit ).
If you have an ohm-meter , you may check the resistance ,
