While looking for something else I came across this, for all of us who work under the guidance of an anymous acronym .....

"Simple, clear purpose and principles give rise to complex, intelligent behavior.
Complex rules and regulations give rise to simple, stupid behavior."

Dee W. Hock, "The Sheep's Second Law of the Universe"

I also liked:

" The first management law of the universe; Everything has both intended and unintended consequences. The intended consequences may or may not happen; the unintended consequences always do. "
