pressure fluctuation

Discussions about GC and other "gas phase" separation techniques.

Hi,

I'm having issues with the pressure fluctuating/not stabilizing in my Agilent GC/MS 6890. The EPC was replaced and fixed the problem for one night of sample analysis. Agilent techs helped with troubleshooting and turning the gas saver off is what ultimately solved the issue, however now it just sits on the preprun and doesn't register the parameters for the method. Any advice would be appreciated
"doesn't register the parameters for the method" Doesn't register where? For the time being, take the workstation out of the equation. If you manual set values on the GC, is the pressure stable? Going to need a bit more information.
Ok well the problem is solved after changing the liner and septum, however, stopped again after two samples ran. And no it doesn't stabilize if the values are manually set
Is your gas supply stable? Regulated?
Check for leaks, using a leakseeker, not the onboard diagnostics.

yes gas supply is stable and uses a regulator. I think I'll put a call in to Agilent and troubleshoot it again.
