UV Detector qualification

I had an Aglient tech come out and perform a PM and OQ on a UV Detector. The tech ran the Wavelength accuracy test and the Homimum Oxide test. Later on, the lamp was replaced but said she did not have to repeat the detector OQ.

Is this correct? I have not heard this before. Any info on this would be helpful.

Thanks

I think it is ok, because the optic of the detector was approved and the new lamp doesn't change parameters there. Only the Intensity is now better.

For GMP matters you may have a look in the Agilent testprotocol or to the judgement by your procedures, if it is a major or a minor repair.

All I would do is make sure that the reference energy is somewhere near what it was last time a new lamp was installed, (or at least that it's better now).

Lamp replacement OQ

I did a lamp replacement this past week on an 1100 VWD. The manual actually said to run the tests afterward, so I did. Took about 15 min. Just had to have water going through the flowcell. If in doubt, I'd just run the tests and document the results.

Check the manual too - although it wouldn't be documented as if it had been done manually, these tests might well be a part of the detector's boot up routine (as it is with some other VW detectors).
