Trying to figure out a hp 5890 series II.
Working on setting gas flows. Turned off the hydrogen gas. Went to turn it back on... knob one budge. like. stuck hard.
Any ideas what the heck is going on with this? Seems odd.

to be specific here folks, I am talking about the detector flow control knobs. Hydrogen, air, aux and igniter switch. The hydrogen knob was closed tight. It is now stuck. Like... vice grips dont want to budge it stuck.
Surely someone has seen this?
Bumpedy bump.

Some of the valves on GCs of that vintage opened clockwise (they were actually mass flow controllers). If you have one of those you have been trying to turn it the wrong way, and using vice grips has probably irrevocably shafted it.
