Newer software that is compatible with Varian CP-3800

Hi all.

I have a Varian 3800 GC with 2x 1077injectors and 2x FID's. DB-1 and DB-wax both 30m, 0,25mm, 0,25um. Using hydrogen as carrier gas and trying to set up a database in Star SW but i find it very hard to work with it.
Sometimes i get other retention time for the same constituent and i am using the same profile.
Could it be because the injection time might differ from each other? The injections are made manually because the autosampler has some problems (a bad solenoid i guess)

Thanks!!
/Alvin

Hi,

Thanks for the reply! I will buy a Agilent 6890 soon with double FID and i am interested in the OpenLAB software. Does it comes with a database or do i need to order it separately? Could you PM me a price?
Does 3800 work trough the network or do i need some special adapters?

Regards,
Alvin

Alvin,
The software comes with a database, that is for sure. Pricing might be different in the various parts of the world so I suggest you ask you local representative for pricing on OpenLAB 2 Plus (with database).
The 3800 should have a BNC LAN connection in order to control it through the network. Special HUB's from HP with combined RJ45 + BNC connector are on the market. If you already control your 3800 through the network that connector is then already present in the GC. It might require a firmware upgrade with is available from Agilent (it is a piece of hardware).
